Mercury brings on mental disease, trouble to the vocal organs, eye-disease, diseases of throat and nose, fever, diseases arising from the three humours Vata, Pittha and Kapha, poison, skin diseases, anaemia, bad dreams, itches and scab (Psoriasis), falling into the fire, roughness or dryness of the body, imprisonment and exhaustion, and harm from evil demons moving in the abodes of Gandharvas, and in fiery pits (where these evil spirits usually dwell); or [from] Gandharvas, the Earth, mansions and horses, etc., as well as evil spirits.

बुध नीचे लिखे हुये रोग और क्लेश उत्पन्न करता है: (१) भ्रान्ति (बेहम, सोचने में अव्यवस्था हो जाय, विचार में तर्क-शक्ति न रहे, व्यर्थ की चिन्ता से मन उलटा-पुलटा सोचने लगे, मन में मिथ्या चिन्ता, बिना कारण भय, आशंका बनी रहे, जो बात यथार्थ हो उसको भूल कर गलत बात याद रहे या गलत धारणा हो जावे — यह सब भ्रान्ति के लक्षण हैं) (२) दुर्वचन बोलना (३) नेत्र रोग (४) गले का रोग (५) नासिका रोग (६) वात, पित्त, कफ — त्रिदोष से उत्पन्न ज्वर (७) विष की बीमारी (८) चर्म रोग (९) पीलिया (१०) दुःस्वप्न, खुजली (११) अग्नि में पड़ने का डर — लोग जातक के साथ परुषता (कठोरता) का व्यवहार करें या जातक स्वयं अन्य लोगों के साथ परुषता का व्यवहार करे (१२) श्रम (परिश्रम का काम करना पड़े) (१३) गन्धर्व आदि से उत्पन्न रोग। यह सब बुध के कारण होते हैं।
