The country pertaining to Jupiter is Aryavarta (name of the tract extending from the Eastern to the Western ocean and bounded on the North and South by the Himalaya and Vindhya respectively). Venus and the Moon indicate tracts watered by the sacred rivers. Mercury represents all sacred places. Saturn signifies prohibited tracts like those occupied by foreigners, while the Sun indicates mountain and forest regions, and Mars, the country of Behar.

(घ) अब भारत वर्ष में किस प्रदेश का किस ग्रह से विशेष सम्बन्ध है यह बताते हैं — (i) सूर्य — पर्वत और जंगल। (ii) चन्द्रमा — पुण्य नदी (जिनमें स्नान करने से पुण्य प्राप्त होता है — यथा गंगा, यमुना, नर्मदा, गोदावरी आदि)। (iii) मंगल — कीकट देश, दरिद्र तथा कुत्सित देश — आजकल जिस प्रदेश को बिहार कहते हैं — उसका एक भाग भी 'कीकट' देश माना जाता है। (iv) बुध — पुण्य स्थल, जिन्हें तीर्थ कहते हैं, यथा श्री रामेश्वरम, श्री रंगम्‌, द्वारका, अयोध्या, आदि। (v) बृहस्पति — आर्यावर्त — हिमालय और विन्ध्य जिसकी उत्तर और दक्षिण की सीमा हैं तथा पूर्व और पश्चिम की सीमा समुद्र तक है। (vi) शुक्र — जो स्थान चन्द्रमा के बताये गये हैं, वही। (vii) शनि — निन्दनीय स्थान, म्लेच्छ भूमि।
