Some say that Dhuma is of the shape of fume clouds, while others opine that it is a star with a tail (comet). Vyatipata is like the fall of a meteor; and Parivesha is a halo or disk round the Sun or the Moon.

कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि 'धूम' धुएँ का समूह है, किन्तु अन्य लोगों के विचार से यह पूँछ वाला तारा या पुच्छल तारा है। उल्कापात तारे के गिरने की तरह व्यतीपात होता है। परिवेष — सूर्य या चन्द्रमा के चारों ओर गोल मण्डल के रूप में दिखाई देता है।
