The places belonging to Jupiter are: treasury, the Aswattha (Pipul) tree, the dwellings of Gods and Brahmins, and the North-east quarter. The places of Venus are: courtesan's quarters, the harem, the dancing hall, the bed room, and the South-east quarter. Saturn's abodes are the lines where low people (out-castes) live, dirty places, Western quarter, and the temple of the deity Sasta (generally known as Aiyanar in Tamil and analogous to Aiyappa in Kannada). The places of Rahu and Ketu are: an ant-hill, the dark holes occupied by serpents, and the South-western direction.

बृहस्पति के स्थान — कोषागार (खज़ाना), अश्वत्थ (पीपल) का वृक्ष, देवताओं और ब्राह्मणों के घर तथा ईशान (उत्तर-पूर्व) दिशा। शुक्र के स्थान — वेश्यालय, अन्तःपुर (रनिवास), नृत्य-शाला, शयन-कक्ष तथा आग्नेय (दक्षिण-पूर्व) दिशा। शनि के स्थान — अन्त्यजों की बस्ती (नीच जातियों का स्थान), मलिन स्थान, पश्चिम दिशा तथा शास्ता-देव (तमिल में ऐयनार्, कन्नड़ में अय्यप्पन के नाम से प्रसिद्ध) का मन्दिर। राहु तथा केतु के स्थान — बाँबियाँ (बिल), सर्पों के रहने के अन्धकार-युक्त गहरे बिल तथा नैऋत्य (दक्षिण-पश्चिम) दिशा।
