If at the birth of a person, the lord of the Lagna be of brilliant rays, he will become famous; if the planet be well-placed, the person will be happy and prosperous. But if he should occupy a Dusstthana, be in the house of a malefic or an enemy or occupy his depression sign, the native will be miserable and will live in a despicable place, beside amidst outcasts or vile people. If the Lagna is strong, the person concerned will live happy, thrive well and will come to power and prominence. But if the Lagna be without strength, the man will constantly be overcome by calamities, be sad and will suffer from disease.

यदि जन्म के समय लग्नेश किरणों से प्रकाशमान हो — अर्थात् अस्त न हो — तो मनुष्य विख्यात होता है। यदि लग्नेश सुस्थान में हो तो जातक सुखी और वृद्धि को प्राप्त होता है। किन्तु यदि लग्नेश नीच राशि, पाप-ग्रह की राशि या दुःस्थान में हो तो जातक निकृष्ट स्थान में वास करता है। यदि लग्नेश बलवान होकर सुस्थान में हो तो जातक सुखी, पराक्रमी, वृद्धि को प्राप्त, उत्तम जीवन व्यतीत करता है, किन्तु यदि लग्नेश निर्बल हो तो मनुष्य विपत्तियों से आक्रान्त (घिरा हुआ), रोगों से खिन्न (अर्थात् रोगी), बार-बार रोगों और विपत्तियों का शिकार बना हुआ दुःखी जीवन व्यतीत करता है। इन श्लोकों में लग्नेश के बलवान् अथवा दुर्बल — उत्तम स्थान किवा दुःस्थान में रहने की महिमा बताई गई है।
