If amongst Satwa, Raja and Tama, any attribute is the most dominant, it is considered the most predominant of all. Otherwise all have equal effects.

द्वाभ्यामेकोऽधिको यश्च तस्याधिक्यं निगद्यते । अन्यथा गुणसाम्यं च विज्ञेयं द्विजसत्तम ! । ।10।। यदि दो-तीन गुणों के लक्षण एकत्र मिलते हों तो जिस गुण की प्रधानता हो, उसी के अनुसार निर्णय करें । यदि प्रधानता न दिखे तो समगुणी समझकर जातक के कार्यक्षेत्र, व्यवसायादि का निर्णय करें ।
