When the 8th bhava is occupied by a malefic planet, the woman concerned becomes a widow and the widowhood will occur at the age (period after marriage) signified by the ruler of the Navamsa occupied by the lord of the 8th house; when benefic planets occupy the 2nd house at the same time, the woman herself will die before her husband, and she will have few children when the Moon is in Virgo, Scorpio, Taurus or Leo.

जब 8वाँ भाव पाप ग्रह से अधिष्ठित हो, तो सम्बन्धित स्त्री विधवा बनती है और वैधव्य उस आयु (विवाह के बाद की अवधि) में होगा जो 8वें भाव के स्वामी द्वारा अधिष्ठित नवांश के स्वामी से सूचित हो; जब साथ ही 2रे भाव में शुभ ग्रह हों, तो स्त्री स्वयं अपने पति से पहले मरेगी, और जब चन्द्र कन्या, वृश्चिक, वृष अथवा सिंह में हो, तो उसकी कम सन्तानें होंगी।
