The direction of the lying-in-chamber is determined by the sign owning the planet that is strongest in the Kendras. If the sign in question be Mesha, Kataka, Tula, Vrischika or Kumbha, the lying-in-chamber will be in the eastern portion of the house. If it be owned by Jupiter or Mercury, the lying-in-chamber is in the north of the house. If it be Vrishabha, the lying-in-chamber is in the western portion of the house. If it be Makara or Simha, the chamber will be located in the southern quarter of the house.
