During the dasa of Mercury, if he is benefic, the person concerned will acquire wealth by undertaking some mission, through his friends, elders and Brahmins. He will be eulogised by the learned and thus become famous. He will get vessels made of brass and other bell-metals; will get gold, mules, lands, every kind of good fortune and happiness. He will be in a position to ridicule others, and clever in resorting to others for help. He will have an accumulation of knowledge and success in all good undertakings. If Mercury be malefic, the person will become harsh in speech, will suffer imprisonment, grief and will have no peace of mind. He will further suffer ailments arising from the three humours Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

बुध की दशा में, यदि वह शुभ हो, तो जातक किसी अभियान को संभाल कर, मित्रों, बड़ों और ब्राह्मणों से धन अर्जित करेगा। विद्वानों द्वारा उसकी प्रशंसा होगी और इस प्रकार वह यशस्वी होगा। उसे काँसे और अन्य घण्टा-धातुओं के पात्र, स्वर्ण, खच्चर, भूमि, सभी प्रकार का सौभाग्य और सुख प्राप्त होगा। वह अन्यों का उपहास करने की स्थिति में होगा और सहायता के लिए अन्यों का सहारा लेने में चतुर होगा। उसके पास ज्ञान का संचय होगा और सभी शुभ कर्मों में सफलता मिलेगी। यदि बुध अशुभ हो, तो जातक कठोर-वचनी होगा, बन्धन, शोक भोगेगा और मानसिक शान्ति नहीं रहेगी। इसके अतिरिक्त वह वात, पित्त और कफ — इन त्रिदोषों से उत्पन्न रोगों से पीड़ित होगा।
