If, at a person's birth, Mars occupy the Lagna, he will have an injured limb; if Mars be in the 2nd house, the person concerned will eat bad food. If he be in the 9th house, the person born will commit sinful actions. If Mars be in any of the other houses, the effect will be similar to that (already stated) for the Sun in these houses. If at the time of birth Mercury occupy the 1st house, the person concerned will be a learned man; if in the 2nd house, he will be rich; if in the 3rd, he will be a consummate rogue; if in the 4th house, he will be learned; if in the 5th, he will be a minister; if in the 6th, he will be without enemies; if in the 7th, he will possess a knowledge of the law and rules of the country; if in the 8th, he will be widely known for his good qualities. The effect of Mercury occupying the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th houses will be the same as that (already described) for the Sun in these houses.

यदि किसी व्यक्ति के जन्म पर मंगल लग्न में हो, तो उसके किसी अंग में चोट होगी; यदि मंगल द्वितीय भाव में हो, तो सम्बन्धित व्यक्ति बुरा भोजन करेगा। यदि वह नवम भाव में हो, तो जन्म लेने वाला पाप-कर्म करेगा। यदि मंगल अन्य भावों में से किसी में हो, तो फल इन भावों में सूर्य के लिए (पहले से उक्त) के समान होगा। यदि जन्म-समय में बुध प्रथम भाव में हो, तो सम्बन्धित व्यक्ति विद्वान होगा; द्वितीय में हो, तो वह धनवान होगा; तृतीय में हो, तो वह पूर्ण धूर्त होगा; चतुर्थ भाव में हो, तो वह विद्वान होगा; पंचम में हो, तो वह मन्त्री होगा; षष्ठ में हो, तो वह शत्रु-रहित होगा; सप्तम में हो, तो उसे देश के नियमों और विधियों का ज्ञान होगा; अष्टम में हो, तो वह अपने सद्गुणों के लिए व्यापक रूप से प्रसिद्ध होगा। बुध के नवम, दशम, एकादश और द्वादश भावों में होने का फल इन भावों में सूर्य के लिए (पहले से उक्त) के समान होगा।
