Temporal and Motional Strengths. The Sun, Jupiter and Venus acquire strength during day-time, while Saturn, theMoon and Mars become strong during night-time. Mercury acquires vigour at all times. The Hora Bala goes to Hora Lord, Masa Bala (Masa - month) to the Lord of the month, Dina Bala to the Lord of the week-day of birth and Abda (year) Bala is credited to the Lord of the year of birth. Malefics get strength in Dark Half, while benefics become strong in Bright Half. The planet, that is victorious in war, that is in its retrograde motion, or, that is not combust become strong. The Luminaries get strength in northern course. This is how Satyacharya detailed motional strength.

कालबल एवं चेष्टाबल। सूर्य, गुरु एवं शुक्र को दिन में बल प्राप्त होता है, तथा शनि, चन्द्र एवं मंगल को रात्रि में बल मिलता है। बुध सर्वकाल बलवान् रहता है। होरा-बल उस होरा के स्वामी को, मास-बल जन्म-मास के स्वामी को, दिन-बल जन्म-वार के स्वामी को, तथा वर्ष (अब्द)-बल जन्म-वर्ष के स्वामी को प्राप्त होता है। पापग्रहों को कृष्ण-पक्ष में बल मिलता है, तथा शुभ ग्रहों को शुक्ल-पक्ष में बल मिलता है। ग्रह-युद्ध में विजयी होने वाला ग्रह, वक्री गति वाला ग्रह, तथा अस्तंगत न होने वाला ग्रह बलवान् होता है। सूर्य एवं चन्द्र को उत्तरायण में बल प्राप्त होता है। इसी प्रकार सत्याचार्य ने चेष्टाबल का वर्णन किया है।
