If there be a preponderance in strength of benefic planets in the Shadvargas, the native will be very wealthy and live for a long period. If the Lagna should happen to occupy Krura Amsas in the several Shadvargas, the native will be poor, short-lived and of a wicked disposition. But if the lords of those Amsas be strong, the person concerned will become a king. If the lord (1) of the rising Navamsa, (2) of the rising decanate or (3) of the (rising) Lagna Rasi be strong, the native will respectively be a person (1) endowed with happiness and comfort, (2) equal to a king, or (3) a ruler of the Earth possessing good fortune.

यदि शुभ ग्रह षड्वर्गों में बलवान हो तो मनुष्य धनवान् और दीर्घायु होता है। जिस प्रकार ग्रहों के षड्वर्ग देखे जाते हैं उसी प्रकार लग्न स्पष्ट करके यह देखना चाहिये कि जो राशि, अंश, कला, विकला उदय हो रही है वह लग्नेश की अपनी किंवा शुभ ग्रहों के वर्ग में है या नहीं। यदि लग्न क्रूर अंशों के षड्वर्गों में हो तो जातक अल्पायु, दरिद्र और दुष्ट प्रकृति का होता है। किन्तु यदि जिन अंशों में लग्न स्पष्ट है उन अंशों के स्वामी बलवान् हों तो मनुष्य बहुत उच्च पदवी प्राप्त करेगा। यदि लग्न के नवांश का स्वामी बलवान हो तो मनुष्य सुखी होगा; यदि लग्न द्रेष्काण का स्वामी बलवान् हो तो मनुष्य राजा के समान पदवी प्राप्त करे; और यदि स्वयं लग्नेश बहुत बलवान् हो तो मनुष्य पृथ्वी (भूमि) का स्वामी और भाग्यवान् हो। (टिप्पणी — राशि, होरा, द्रेष्काण, नवांश, द्वादशांश और त्रिंशांश यह षड्वर्ग कहलाते हैं।)
