When the Sun is posited in the 5th house identical with a childless Rasi, Saturn is in the 8th and Mars in the Lagna; or when Saturn, Jupiter and Mars occupy respectively the Lagna, the 8th and the 12th and the 5th house happens to be a childless sign; or when the Moon occupies the 11th and the 5th house reckoned from Jupiter is occupied by a malefic planet and there are many planets stationed in the Lagna; the person concerned will have a child late in life after a great effort.

इस श्लोक में तीन पृथक-पृथक्‌ योग बताये गये हैं। इन तीनों योगों में से यदि कोई भी योग हो तो जातक के बहुत काल के बाद (जवानी बीत जाने पर) और बहुत यत्न करने पर पुत्र होता है: (क) पंचम में अल्पसुत राशि हो और उसमें सूर्य हो, शनि आठवें घर में हो और मंगल लग्न में हो। (ख) शनि लग्न में हो, बृहस्पति अष्टम में हो और मंगल बारहवें घर में तथा पाँचवें घर में अल्पसुत राशि हो। (ग) चन्द्रमा ग्यारहवें हो, बृहस्पति से पाँचवें घर में पापग्रह हो और लग्न में कई ग्रह हों।
