The strength of the planets occupying the 4 Kendras (1st, 4th, 7th and 10th) has been distinguished by the astrologers in the following manner: It is ¼ in the 4th house; ½ in the 10th, ¾ in the 7th and full in the 1st or Lagna, thus increasing it by ¼ in each stage.
