If the lords of the 8th, 6th and 12th houses occupy in strength Kendra or Trikona houses, and the lords of the 1st, 10th, 4th and 9th houses be weak or eclipsed and be posited in the 6th, 8th and 12th houses, the result is Duryoga. But if the above position be reverse, (i.e., the lords of the 8th, 6th and 12th being weak or eclipsed occupy those houses, and the lords of the 1st, 4th, 9th and 10th houses being strong occupy Kendra or Kona houses), the person concerned will be a King, fortunate, wealthy, happy and virtuously disposed.

यदि षष्ठ, अष्टम तथा द्वादश के स्वामी प्रबल (बलवान) होकर केन्द्र (१, ४, ७, १०) या त्रिकोण (५, ९) में हों और लग्न, चतुर्थ, नवम तथा दशम — इन चारों भवनों के स्वामी निर्वीर्य (बलहीन) और अस्त (सूर्य के समीप रहने के कारण) होकर ६, ८, १२ स्थान या स्थानों में हों तो 'दुर्योग' ही होता है। अर्थात् यह ख़राब योग है। यदि इससे उलटा हो अर्थात् ६, ८, १२ के मालिक बलहीन होकर दुःस्थान में पड़ें और लग्न, चतुर्थ, नवम, दशम के स्वामी बलवान्, पूर्ण प्रभा से युक्त (अस्त नहीं), सुस्थान में पड़ें तो ऐसा योगवाला धनपति (लक्ष्मीवान), राजा (अर्थात् ऐश्वर्यशाली), सुखी और धार्मिक होता है। कहने का तात्पर्य यह है कि ६, ८, १२ दुःस्थान हैं — इनके स्वामी निर्बल होने चाहिये; १, ४, ९, १० विशिष्ट स्थान हैं — इनके स्वामी बलवान् होने चाहिये। विष जितना थोड़ा और कमज़ोर हो उतना अच्छा; अमृत जितना अधिक और बलशाली हो उतना अच्छा।
