The person at whose birth the Moon is in the 8th house will suffer from diseases and will be short-lived. If the Moon should occupy the 9th house at a birth, the person concerned will be prosperous, virtuous and blessed with children. He will be victorious, and all his undertakings will be crowned with success at the beginning itself. If the Moon should occupy the 10th house at a birth, the person concerned will do good acts and will be helpful to the virtuous. If the Moon be in the 11th house, the person born will be high-minded, long-lived, and endowed with riches, children and servants. If the Moon be in the 12th house at a birth, the person concerned will be odious to others; he will suffer misery, will be insulted and will be most indolent.

यदि अष्टम में चन्द्रमा हो तो जातक रोगी और अल्पायु होता है। चन्द्रमा नवम में हो तो जातक शुभ-धर्मा (शुभ धार्मिक आचरण करने वाला) होगा और उसके पुत्र भी होंगे। यदि दशम में चन्द्रमा हो तो ऐसा जातक विजयी होता है; जिस काम में वह हाथ लगाता है उसमें प्रारम्भ में ही सफलता हो जाती है। ऐसा व्यक्ति शुभ-कर्म करने वाला और सज्जनों के साथ उपकार करने वाला होता है। यदि चन्द्रमा ग्यारहवें भाव में हो तो मनुष्य मनस्वी, दीर्घायु, धनवान्, पुत्रवान् होता है और उसे नौकर का भी सुख प्राप्त होता है। व्यय-भावगत चन्द्रमा का निकृष्ट फल है — ऐसा व्यक्ति आलसी, अपमानित, दुःखी होता है और उससे अन्य द्वेष करते हैं।
