The 2nd and the 7th (houses) are termed the two death-producing houses. If the lords of these or the planets posited therein are powerful they cause death during their Dasas. Should the lord of the 8th or the 12th house be very weak, the demise may be expected during the Bhukti of either of the two.

द्वितीय और सप्तम भाव को मारक स्थान कहते हैं। यदि इनके स्वामी या अन्य ग्रह बलवान होकर इन स्थानों में पड़े हुए हों तो वह अपनी दशा में मृत्यु करते हैं। यदि अष्टमेश या व्ययेश भी अति दुर्बल हों तो उनकी भी दशा में मृत्यु हो सकती है।
