If the lord of the 3rd house be posited in a Dusthāna (Dussthāna), the person concerned may expect the demise of his brother during the planet's Dasa; evil counsel will prevail in his undertakings, and there will be trouble through secret machinations of internal enemies, humiliation, discomfiture and loss of pride thereby. If the lord of the 4th house be similarly weak, he will during his Dasa cause distress to the native's mother, sickness to his dear friends, danger to his lands and house, trouble from planets, destruction of cattle, etc., and danger from water.

यदि तीसरे घर का स्वामी बिगड़ा हुआ हो तो सहोदर भाई-बहिन की मृत्यु की आशंका हो; जातक के कार्य की अनिष्ट आलोचना हो और छिपे हुए शत्रुओं से पीड़ा हो; जातक की हार हो, उसको नीचा देखना पड़े और उसका गर्व-भंग हो। बिगड़े हुए तृतीयेश की महादशा में उपर्युक्त अनिष्ट फल होते हैं। यदि चौथे घर का स्वामी निर्बल हो तो उसकी महादशा में माता को कष्ट हो, इष्टजनों और मित्रों को कष्ट हो, खेत और मकान के नष्ट होने का भय हो; पशु-अश्व आदि नष्ट हों और जल का भय हो। चौथे स्थान से जल का भी विचार किया जाता है। इस कारण चतुर्थेश के बिगड़ने से जल का भय लिखा है।
