When the lord of the 8th bhava occupies its own house, the person born will be long-lived. If the lords of the 1st and the 8th bhavas occupy the 6th or the 12th bhava, then too will the person born enjoy prolonged vital energy. The lords of the 10th, the 1st and the 8th bhavas in a Kendra, a Trikona or the 11th bhava lead to long life. But if they be weak and in conjunction with Saturn, the astrologer may declare life to be short.
