jātaḥ saukhyaratastu mandatanaye mandena yukte yadā
sarpeṇaiva vidha(gha)pradastu śikhinā vahniprado jāyate |
bhikṣuḥ syādviṣanāḍiyuktagṛhage bhūpālako'pi dhruvaṃ
jātasyopakhagānvitā gaganagāḥ kurvantyaniṣṭaṃ phalam

When Gulika is associated with Saturn, the person born will be devoted to pleasure and enjoyment; when Gulika is associated with Rahu, the person born will become a poisoner; when Gulika is associated with Ketu, the person born will become an incendiary. When Gulika is in a house affected by Vishanadi, the person born, even if he be a ruler of the earth, will undoubtedly become a beggar. In fact, the major planets united with minor ones (Upagrahas) produce a malefic effect.
