At the time of a Simhavalokana, astrologers say, there will be suffering caused by fever, loss of place, of a loving relation or other such person, distress to persons having the same status as the owner of the horoscope in the family, accident in water such as falling in a well, danger from poison, fire or some deadly weapon, and being thrown from a vehicle. All this is likely to happen when the Simhavalokana is synchronous with the Dasachidra, i.e. the dasa period, bhukti, apahara, etc. of an ill-placed malefic planet.
