But planets produce evil when (1) they own the Rasi occupied by Mandi; (2) they occupy the bhavas containing Mandi; (3) they are associated with fewer than the average number of benefic dots; (4) they are in inimical, depressed or eclipsed signs; (5) they are in a bhava-sandhi or associated with malefic planets; and lastly when they occupy portions of Rasi-Sandhi which have been termed inauspicious.
