From the time of conception of the embryo to the time of delivery of the child from the womb in the 10th month, there are several stages of development. In the 1st month the semen is in a liquid state and the lord of the month is Venus. During the 2nd month the embryo hardens and the lord is Mars. The lord of the 3rd month during which the limbs sprout up is Jupiter. In the 4th month bone is formed and the Sun is the lord. In the 5th the skin appears and the lord is the Moon. In the 6th month hair begins to grow and the lord is Saturn. In the 7th month the lord is Mercury and consciousness appears. The lords of the 8th, 9th and 10th months are respectively the lord of the Adhana Lagna, the Moon and the Sun. The good or evil happening to the child during each month depends on the condition of its lord.
