The Sage replied — The results should be declared in accordance with the Sudarśana Chakra only when the Sun and the Moon are in separate rasis different from the rasi of the Ascendant. If amongst the Ascendant, the Sun and the Moon, all three or two of them are in the same rasi, the judgment of effects should be made from the birth chart only.

यदा सुदर्शनादेव फलं सिद्ध्यति देहिनाम् । तदा किं मुनिभिः सर्वैर्लग्नादेव फलं स्मृतम् । ।19।। मैत्रेय ने पूछा- हे भगवन् ! जब सुदर्शन चक्र से ही मनुष्यों का सब फल ज्ञात होता है, तब कुछ मुनियों ने केवल लग्नकुण्डली से ही फल विचार की पद्धति क्यों कही है ?
