Effects like acquisition of a kingdom (attainment of a high position in government) and wealth, happiness from wife and children, happiness from employer, meeting with friends, happiness from parents, marriage, name and fame, betterment of fortune, birth of a son etc., will be experienced if the Sun be in his sign of exaltation, in his own sign in kendra trikona, the 2nd or the 11th from the Ascendant or the lord of the Dasa (Venus).

तथाष्टमे व्यये सूर्ये रिपुराशिस्थितेऽथवा । नीचे वा पापवर्गस्थे देहतापो मनोरुजः ।।15।। स्वजनोपरिसंक्लेशं नित्यं निष्ठुरभाषणम्‌ । पितृपीडा बन्धुहानिः राजद्वारे विरोधकृत्‌ ।।16।। व्रणपीडाहिबाधा च स्वगृहे च भयं तथा । नानारोगभयं चैव गृहक्षेत्रादिनाशनम्‌ ।।17।। यदि सूर्य 8.12 में या शत्रुक्षेत्री, नीचगत या पापवर्गगत हो तो शरीर में सन्ताप, मानसिक कष्ट, अपने लोगों को कष्ट, सदैव कठोर भाषण के अवसर, पिता को कष्ट, बन्धु की हानि, राजद्वार में विरोध, चोरभय, सर्पभय, अपने घर में ही अनेक रोगों का भय, घर या सम्पत्ति आदि का विनाश होता है।
