Early death will come to pass if there be a birth in the morning or evening junctions or in a Horā ruled by the Moon or in Gandānta while the Moon and malefics occupy angles from the ascendant. DEFINITION OF SANDHYĀ: 3 Ghaṭikās before the sight of the semi-disc (half) of the rising Sun and a similar duration following the Sun-set are called morning twilight and evening twilight, respectively.

(अ) कीट-लग्न (वृश्चिक) में जन्म, चक्र-पूर्वार्ध में सभी पाप-ग्रह तथा पश्चिमार्ध में सब शुभ-ग्रह हों — परम अरिष्ट (बालक-मृत्यु)। बादरायण के अनुसार 'कीट' से वृश्चिक व कर्क दोनों — सारावली में इसका नाम 'वज्र-मुष्टि' (केवल वृश्चिक-लग्न में)। (आ) 6-12 या 2-8 भावों में एक साथ पाप-ग्रह व लग्न के दोनों ओर पाप-ग्रह — निश्चय से मृत्यु। (इ) 1-7 दोनों भावों में एक-एक पाप-ग्रह, चन्द्रमा भी क्रूर-युक्त, सौम्य-ग्रह चन्द्र को न देखें — शीघ्र मृत्यु।
