OTHER KĀRAKAS: The planet next to Ātmakāraka in terms of longitude is called Amātyakāraka. Similarly follow one another in terms of longitude are Bhrātṛ-kāraka, Mātṛ-kāraka, Pitṛ-kāraka, Putra-kāraka, Jñāti-kāraka and Strī-kāraka. These are Cara-kārakas or inconstant significators. Some consider Mātṛ-kāraka and Putra-kāraka as identical. If two planets have the same longitude, both become the same kāraka in which case there will be a deficit of one kāraka. In that circumstance, consider constant significator in the context of benefic/malefic influence for the concerned relative.
