Fate of the physical body: should there be a benefic's dreshkana in the eighth — that is, the twenty-second dreshkana — the body will be burnt in fire as prescribed by the shastras. If a malefic's dreshkana is in the eighth, the body will be thrown into water. If the dreshkana in the eighth is owned by a mixed planet, the dead body will only dry up.

मृत शरीर की गति: यदि अष्टम में — अर्थात् बाईसवें द्रेष्काण में — शुभ ग्रह का द्रेष्काण हो, तो शव शास्त्र-विहित विधि से अग्नि में जलाया जाएगा। यदि अष्टम का द्रेष्काण पापी का हो, तो शव जल में प्रवाहित होगा। यदि मिश्रित ग्रह का द्रेष्काण हो, तो शव केवल सूख जाएगा।
