The Sage replied — O Brahmin! Daśās (periods) are of many kinds. Amongst them Vimśottarī is the most appropriate for the general populace. But the other Daśās followed in special cases are Aṣṭottarī, Ṣoḍaśottarī, Dvādaśottarī, Pañcottarī, Śatābdikā, Caturaśīti-sama, Dviśaptati-sama, Ṣaṣṭi-hāyani and Ṣaṭ-triṁśat-sama. Our ancients have described these different kinds of Daśās based on nakshatras (constellations).

Hindi
