सर्वज्ञोऽसि महर्षे त्वं कृपया दीनवत्सल ।
दशाः कतिविधाः सन्ति तन्मे कथय तत्त्वतः

daśāḥ katividhāḥ santi tanme kathaya tattvataḥ

Maitreya said — O Venerable Sage! You are omniscient. There is no subject with which you are not conversant. Therefore now please favour me with guidance about the different kinds of Daśās (Periods) of the various planets.
