If a planet in his own sign, his moolatrikona sign or in his exaltation sign be at the same time in the 10th house of another who is also placed in a similar position (that is, in his own, moolatrikona or exaltation sign) and happens to be in friendship — Nisarga (natural) or Tatkalika (for the time being) — then the planet in the 10th house acts as a karaka of the second planet. (N.B. The second planet is not a karaka of the first.)

यदि अपनी राशि, मूलत्रिकोण राशि अथवा उच्च राशि में अधिष्ठित ग्रह साथ ही ऐसे अन्य ग्रह के दशम भाव में हो जो स्वयं भी समान स्थिति में अधिष्ठित हो (अर्थात् अपनी राशि, मूलत्रिकोण अथवा उच्च राशि में), और मित्रता में हो — निसर्ग (नैसर्गिक) अथवा तात्कालिक (समय-विशेष की) — तो दशम भाव में अधिष्ठित ग्रह दूसरे ग्रह का कारक बनता है। (टिप्पणी: दूसरा ग्रह पहले का कारक नहीं होता।)
