The Moon and Venus in even signs with Mars, Mercury, Jupiter and the Lagna in odd signs cause the formation of a twin embryo. The rising sign and the Moon being in even signs and aspected by any male planet cause also twins. Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and the Lagna being in even signs and possessed of strength likewise lead to a twin fetus being conceived in the womb. There will be a trio of embryos conceived when Mercury in his own Navamsa aspects all planets and the Lagna, or if the Lagna and all the planets occupy Navamsas belonging to dual signs. Two out of these triplets will have their sexes determined by the character of the Navamsa occupied by Mercury — being males if the Navamsa is that of Mithuna, and females if the Navamsa is owned by Kanya. The triplets will be of one and the same sex if all the Navamsas concerned are owned by dual signs of the same sex; i.e., the trio will be all males when the Navamsas are those of Mithuna and Dhanus; females, when the Navamsas are those of Kanya and Meena.

चन्द्र और शुक्र सम राशियों में हों और मंगल, बुध, गुरु और लग्न विषम राशियों में हों — तो जुड़वाँ गर्भ की सम्भावना है। लग्न और चन्द्र सम राशियों में हों और किसी पुरुष ग्रह की दृष्टि पाएँ — इससे भी जुड़वाँ होते हैं। बुध, मंगल, गुरु और लग्न सम राशियों में बलवान हों — इससे भी जुड़वाँ गर्भ धारण होता है। जब बुध अपने नवांश में हो और सभी ग्रहों और लग्न को दृष्टि दे, या लग्न और सभी ग्रह द्विस्वभाव राशियों के नवांशों में हों — तो त्रिक गर्भ की सम्भावना है। इन तीनों में से दो का लिंग बुध के नवांश के स्वभाव से निर्धारित होगा — मिथुन नवांश हो तो दो पुत्र, कन्या नवांश हो तो दो पुत्रियाँ। यदि सभी नवांश एक ही लिंग की द्विस्वभाव राशियों के हों — मिथुन और धनु के हों तो तीनों पुत्र; कन्या और मीन के हों तो तीनों पुत्रियाँ।
