If the Sun be good, he gives in his dasa or antardasa wealth through perfumes, claws, tusks (of elephants), skins (of tigers), gold, cruel deeds, roads, kings and battles. He will make the person high-minded, brave, always active, famous and more dignified. If the Sun be untoward, he will have to apprehend perils or dangers through his wife, sons, wealth, enemies, weapons, fire or a king. He will renounce everything, will be inclined to do wicked deeds, will quarrel with his servants and will suffer from diseases affecting the heart or stomach. If the Sun be of a mixed character, the effect will also be mixed.

यदि सूर्य शुभ हो, तो वह अपनी दशा या अन्तर्दशा में सुगन्धित द्रव्यों, नखों, हाथीदाँतों, बाघ की खालों, स्वर्ण, क्रूर कर्मों, मार्गों, राजाओं और युद्धों से धन देता है। वह जातक को उच्च-मना, वीर, सदा सक्रिय, यशस्वी और गरिमामय बनाएगा। यदि सूर्य अनिष्ट हो, तो जातक को पत्नी, पुत्रों, धन, शत्रुओं, शस्त्रों, अग्नि अथवा राजा से संकट या भय की आशंका रहेगी। वह सब कुछ त्याग देगा, दुष्कर्मों की ओर प्रवृत्त होगा, सेवकों से कलह करेगा, और हृदय या उदर के रोगों से पीड़ित होगा। यदि सूर्य मिश्र स्वभाव का हो, तो फल भी मिश्र होगा।
