If at a birth the Moon be in his own decanate or in that of a friend, the person concerned will have a very fine appearance and will be endowed with all good qualities. But if the Moon should occupy the decanate owned by a non-friendly planet, the native will have the stature and quality pertaining to that non-friendly planet. If the Moon should be in a serpent decanate, the person will be wrathful; if he be in a weapon (armed) decanate, the person concerned will do deeds involving murder. If the Moon be in a quadruped decanate, the person will share the bed of females whom he ought not to cohabit with. If the Moon be in a bird (Pakshin) decanate, the person will be a wanderer.

यदि जन्म-समय में चन्द्र अपने द्रेक्काण में अथवा किसी मित्र के द्रेक्काण में हो, तो सम्बन्धित व्यक्ति का अत्यन्त सुन्दर रूप होगा और वह सभी सद्गुणों से सम्पन्न होगा। किन्तु यदि चन्द्र किसी अमित्र ग्रह के स्वामित्व वाले द्रेक्काण में हो, तो जातक का क़द और गुण उस अमित्र ग्रह के अनुरूप होंगे। यदि चन्द्र सर्प-द्रेक्काण में हो, तो व्यक्ति क्रोधी होगा; यदि वह आयुध (शस्त्र) द्रेक्काण में हो, तो सम्बन्धित व्यक्ति वध-सम्बन्धी कर्म करेगा। यदि चन्द्र चतुष्पाद-द्रेक्काण में हो, तो व्यक्ति उन स्त्रियों की शय्या साझा करेगा जिनके साथ संभोग नहीं करना चाहिए। यदि चन्द्र पक्षी द्रेक्काण में हो, तो व्यक्ति भ्रमणशील होगा।
