If a planet has departed from its exaltation, its Dasa is known, as Avarohini (stepping down) Dasa. If, however, it is in own, or friendly divisions, the effects will be medium, i.e. neither good nor bad. The Dasa of a planet approaching its exaltation, departing from debilitation, is known, as Arohini (climbing) Dasa. If the said planet is in inimical, or debilitation divisions, it will inflict difficulties.

जन्म के समय जो ग्रह अपनी उच्च राशि से आगे हो उसकी अवरोहिणी नाम की दशा होतो है । यदि उच्च राशि से आगे को राशि वाला ग्रह अपने मित्र ग्रह के नवांश में या उच्च राशि के नवांश में हो तो इसकी दशा मध्यम फल देती है । जो ग्रह नीच राशि से आगे हो उसकी अवरोहिणी नाम की दशा होती है । यदि नीच राशि से आगे वाला ग्रह शत्रु वा नीच राशि के नवांश में हो तो दशा कष्ट दायिनी होती है
