Thus should be understood the possible time of birth in day, or night and the Lagna at birth. In similar manner the difference between sunrise and birth, i.e. natal Ascendant and (week)day, fortnight, Muhurta month etc. should be guessed. Such details relating to birth should first be ascertained and then predictions should be issued with reference to nativity by astrologers.

पुर्व श्‍लोक से दिन रात्रि ज्ञान करके जन्म के समय में होरादि षड्वर्ग में स्थित ऊन का ज्ञान युक्ति से कहना चाहिये । इस प्रकार उदय ( लग्न) समुदाय (षड्वर्गादि) से दित (वासर) पक्ष मूहूर्तं मास संज्ञक राशि में प्रसव होता है । इस प्रकार आधान समय में प्रथम प्रसव समय का निश्चय करके ज्योतिषी को जातकोक्त फलादेश का विचार करना चाहिये ॥ विशेप--दिन पक्षादि का ज्ञान चतुर्थाध्याय के १७वें श्लोक में किया है
