If at a birth the lord of the 5th house be posited in his inimical or depression sign or be eclipsed (by the Sun's rays) or occupy any of the Dusstthanas (viz., the 6th, the 8th or the 12th); or the planet occupying the 5th house be similarly situated or happen to be the lord of any one of the three houses, viz., the 6th, the 8th or the 12th, one ought to declare childlessness as an inevitable result. He ought to divine the source of the same by an examination of the particular deity, tree and animal represented by the sign occupied by that planet.

यदि जन्मकुण्डली में पाँचवें घर का स्वामी शत्रु राशि का हो, नीच राशि का हो या अस्त हो और लग्न से छठे, आठवें या बारहवें पड़ा हो तो सन्तान प्राप्ति में बाधा होती है। इसी प्रकार कोई ग्रह नीच राशि का, शत्रुराशि का या अस्त होकर पंचम में बैठा हो या छठे, आठवें, बारहवें घर का मालिक होकर पाँचवें घर में बैठ जावे तो भी पुत्र का अभाव या पुत्र कष्ट करता है। ऊपर कहे हुए जितने योग अधिक हों उतनी ही अधिक बाधा समझनी चाहिये। बाधाकारक ग्रह जिस राशि में बैठा हो उसके अनुसार यह निर्णय करना चाहिये कि किस देवता, वृक्ष या जीव के कारण बाधा हो रही है और उसकी शान्ति का उपाय करना चाहिये।
