If four planets with the lord of the 10th Bhava occupy a Kendra or Trikona; or if three planets endowed with strength be posited in a good house, the person born will seek admission into the holy order and become a successful ascetic. If the planets forming the group contain more benefics and occupy good houses, the holy order will be one that is respected by all and honoured by the great. If it be otherwise, the ascetic order will be one that does not command reverence. Thus ends the 27th Adhyaya on "Ascetic Yogas" in the work Phaladeepika composed by Mantreswara.

यदि चार ग्रह (जिन चार में एक ग्रह दसवें घर का स्वामी भी हो) केन्द्र या त्रिकोण में हों, या तीन ग्रह बली अच्छे स्थान में हों, तो संन्यास-सिद्धि होती है — अर्थात् संन्यास लेने की भावना पूर्ण होती है। संन्यास-सिद्धि का यह अर्थ भी है कि संन्यास-ग्रहण के उपरान्त सिद्धि प्राप्त होती है। जो ग्रह ऊपर संन्यास-कारक बताये गये हैं उनमें शुभ ग्रह विशेष हों और शुभ स्थानों में बैठे हों, तो ऐसी प्रव्रज्या होती है जिससे सत्पुरुष उसका सम्मान करते हैं; और पाप ग्रह यदि प्रव्रज्या-कारक हों, तो ऐसा संन्यास होता है जिसकी लोग प्रशंसा नहीं करते।
