उपर्युक्त फल पूर्ण रूप से तब घटित होगा जब चन्द्रमा पूर्ण बली हो। शुक्ल पक्ष की प्रतिपद् से दशमी तक — इन दस दिनों में चन्द्रमा मध्यम बली होता है, इस कारण चन्द्रमा के इन दस दिनों में मध्यम फल होगा। बीच के दस दिन में अर्थात् शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी से कृष्ण पक्ष की पंचमी तक चन्द्रमा पूर्ण बली होता है, इस कारण ऐसा चन्द्रमा पूर्ण शुभ फल देगा। और अन्तिम दस दिन में — कृष्ण पक्ष की षष्ठी से अमावस्या तक चन्द्रमा क्रमशः निर्बल होता जाता है, इस कारण ऐसा चन्द्रमा थोड़ा शुभ फल देता है। एक अन्य मत से ५ कला तक क्षीण बली, ६ से १० कला तक मध्यम बली, १० से १५ कला तक पूर्ण बली।
