If at the time of birth, the Sun should occupy the 9th house, the person concerned will lose his father; he will have children and relations and will revere Gods and Brahmins. If he occupies the 10th house, the person will have sons, vehicles, laudation, intelligence, wealth, strength and fame. He will be a King. The Sun in the 11th house will make the person born very wealthy and long-lived. He will be a King and will have no sorrow. If the Sun be in the 12th house, the person born will hate his father. His eye-sight will be defective and he will be without wealth and children.

यदि सूर्य नवम भाव में हो तो पिता से हीन हो अर्थात् कम उम्र में ही पिता का सुख न रहे। दक्षिण भारत में नवम भाव से पिता का विचार किया जाता है, इस कारण सूर्य का नवम-भाव-स्थित होने का पितृ-कष्ट फल लिखा है। नवम में सूर्य सन्तान-सुख और बन्धु-सुख देता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति ब्राह्मण और देवताओं का आदर करता है। यदि दशम में सूर्य हो तो जातक को सन्तान-सुख, सवारियों का सुख हो। ऐसा व्यक्ति बुद्धिमान्, लक्ष्मीवान्, बलवान् और यशस्वी होता है। लोग उसकी प्रशंसा करते हैं और वह राजा के समान वैभवशाली होता है। यदि ग्यारहवें भाव में सूर्य हो तो मनुष्य धनी और दीर्घायु हो; ऐसे व्यक्ति को शोक नहीं होता अर्थात् वह सुखी रहता है और बहुत से आदमियों के ऊपर हुकूमत करता है। यदि बारहवें घर में सूर्य हो तो अपने पिता से शत्रुता करे। ऐसा जातक नेत्र-रोग से युक्त होता है। हमारे विचार से बाएं नेत्र में विशेष कमज़ोरी होनी चाहिए। ऐसा जातक धन-हीन, पुत्र-हीन भी होता है।
