In the case of a nativity, one ought to guess the effects after a reference to Saravali, Varahamihira's Hora Sastra and the Nakshatra Dasa. While so guessing, one must refer also to the positions of the planets with reference to the Lagna at the time of the query or the (Janma Rasi) or Lagna at birth and then attempt his predictions. There will not be any material difference between the Prasna Lagna and the Janma Lagna (in the matter of the predictions).

सारावली (यह कल्याण-वर्मा-विरचित फलित-ज्योतिष का संस्कृत ग्रन्थ है), उडुदशा (उडुदाय-प्रदीप — उडुदशा या नक्षत्र-दशा सम्बन्धी फलित ज्योतिष का ग्रन्थ है) तथा वराहमिहिर-रचित होराशास्त्र के आधार पर जातक की कुण्डली का फलादेश करना चाहिये। अथवा प्रश्न-कुण्डली बनाकर उससे फलादेश करे, या जातक की जन्म-राशि से विचार करे — इनमें कोई विशेष अन्तर नहीं आता। मन्त्रेश्वर महाराज के विचारानुसार जन्म-कुण्डली के आधार पर जैसे सुचारु रूप से फलादेश किया जा सकता है, वैसे ही जन्म-राशि तथा प्रश्न-कुण्डली पर से भी उतना ही अच्छा विचार किया जा सकता है।
