Out of the two sets of planets, viz., (1) the lord of the house occupied by the lord of the 8th house, and the lord of the Navamsa occupied by the lord of the 8th house and (2) the lord of the 22nd decanate and the lord of the rising decanate, find which planet in each pair is stronger. When the Dasa of this stronger planet is in progress, and when Jupiter during his transit passes through the Rasi and Navamsa occupied by the lord of the 8th house or its triangular position, the death of the person concerned may come to pass.

यह देखिये कि (क) अष्टमेश जिस राशि में है उसका स्वामी और (ख) अष्टमेश जिस नवांश में है उसका स्वामी — इन दोनों में कौन बलवान है। इसी प्रकार यह देखिये कि (ग) लग्न से २२वें द्रेष्काण का स्वामी और (घ) लग्न जिस द्रेष्काण में है उसका स्वामी — इन दोनों में कौन बलवान है। उपर्युक्त बलवान् ग्रह की महादशा हो और बृहस्पति गोचरवश निम्नलिखित स्थानों में से कहीं भी आवे तब मृत्यु होती है: (१) अष्टमेश जिस राशि में हो; (२) अष्टमेश जिस नवांश में हो; (३) ऊपर (१) और (२) में जो स्थान बताये गये हैं उनसे नवम या पंचम।
