If Mars be posited in an (Urdhvamukha) Rasi (vide I-8 supra), or the exaltation sign identical with the 10th or the 11th house, his Dasa-period will secure to the native concerned a kingdom. After subduing his enemies, he will become a renowned king endowed with a large number of vehicles and a huge army and he will feed many people.

यदि मंगल ऊर्ध्वमुख राशि में स्थित होकर मकर में हो और लग्न से दशम या एकादश स्थान में स्थित हो तो उसकी दशा राज्य प्रदान करती है। ऐसा जातक शत्रुओं को जीत कर बहुत बड़ी सेना का अधिपति होकर राज्यलक्ष्मी का उपभोग करता है और उसके आश्रय में अनेक लोग पेट पालते हैं। यह जो विशिष्ट राजयोग बताया गया है इसमें तीनों बात होना आवश्यक है: (१) मंगल उच्च राशि में हो (२) दशम या एकादश में हो (३) ऊर्ध्वमुख राशि में हो। ऊर्ध्वमुख राशि किसे कहते हैं यह पहले अध्याय के आठवें श्लोक में बताया गया है। यह मंगल की महादशा का फल है।
