Gandanta, which consists of a period of 1.5 ghatikas at the junction of each of the three pairs of stars Moola and Jyeshta, Magha and Aslesha, and Revati and Aswini, is productive of much evil to living beings. The ghatika at the junction at Jyeshta and Moola is termed Abhukta. Any girl, boy, beast or slave born in the ghatika in question earns the ruin of the family owning them.
