Convert the degrees and portions thereof in the Lagna to minutes (the number representing integral signs being left out), and multiply herewith the Ayurdaya of the planets separately. Divide the product by 21,600. The quotient representing years, etc., found for each planet must be subtracted from its Ayurdaya. This reduction is enjoined when a malefic planet occupies the Lagna. But if the malefic planet be aspected by a benefic one, only half the result obtained by the above process for each planet is to be subtracted from its Ayurdaya. This reduction does not apply to the Amsayurdaya. The process in the Naisargikayurdaya is also the same as in the Pindayurdaya.
