Mercury becomes very beneficial if he gets associated with the lord of the 9th. Reverence from and popularity amongst people, performance of pious deeds and religious rites, devotion to the preceptor and deities, increase in wealth and grains, birth of a son, will be auspicious effects, if Mercury be in the 9th, the 5th or the 10th.

धनधान्यादि संयुक्तो विवाहः पुत्रसम्भवः । (i) यदि बुध स्वोच्च या स्वक्षेत्र में केन्द्र त्रिकोण या लाभस्थान में हो, या वर्गबली हो तो इसकी अन्तर्दशा में राज्यप्राप्ति, हृदय में बहुत उत्साह, स्त्री-पुत्रादि का सुख, राजा की ओर से सम्मानजनक वस्त्राभूषण की प्राप्ति, तीर्थाटन, घर में पशुधन की वृद्धि होती है । (ii) यदि बुध नवमेश या लाभेश से युक्त हो तो अधिक लाभ होता है; 5, 9, 10 भावों में स्थित हो तो मान-सम्मान मिलता है । (iii) धार्मिक बुद्धि का उदय, गुरु-देवताओं का अर्चन, धन-धान्य की वृद्धि, विवाह व पुत्रोत्पत्ति की सम्भावना होती है ।
