If Mercury be in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th from the lord of Dasa (Venus) or be weak or be associated with a malefic, there will be agony, loss of cattle, residence in other people's houses, and losses in business. There will be some good effects at the commencement, moderate in the middle portion and distress from fever etc., at the end of the Antardasa.

भुक्त्यादौ शोभनं प्रोक्तं मध्ये मध्यफलं दिशेत्‌ । अन्ते क्लेशकरं चैव शीतवातज्वरादिकम्‌ ।।64।। सप्तमाधीशदोषेण देहपीडा भविष्यति । तददोषपरिहारार्थं विष्णुसाहस्रकं जपेत्‌ ।।65।। पुनश्च अन्तर्दशा के आरम्भ में कुछ शुम, मध्य में मिले-जुले शुमाशुम फल तथा दशान्त में बहुत कष्ट व पूर्वोक्त अशुम फल होते हैं। शीत व वायु का बुखार होता है। यदि बुध सप्तमेश हो तो शरीर कष्ट होता है। इसके निवारणार्थं विष्णु सहस्रनाम का जप करना चाहिए ।
