Effects of the Saturn's Ashtakavarga: The 8th house from Saturn signifies death as well as longevity. Assessment about longevity (span of life) should be made from that house through the Ashtakavarga. Therefore, predict distress to the native in the year equal to the number of rekhas in the Ashtakavarga from the Ascendant up to Saturn. The year equal to the number of rekhas from Saturn up to the Ascendant will also be of distress. If in the year equal to the total of the above rekhas Arishta Dasa be also in operation, there can be possibility of death of the native.

वित्तं कलत्रं भूमिं च तत्तद्देशाद्‌ विनिर्दिशेत्‌ । शुक्राज्जामित्रतो दारलब्धिश्चिन्त्या विचक्षणैः । । 37 । । शुक्र से सप्तम स्थान में स्त्री प्राप्ति या विवाहादि का विचार करना चाहिए । सप्तम या उससे त्रिकोण भावगत राशि की दिशा, देश आदि में स्त्रीलाभ कहना चाहिए ।
