Evil effects of less than 25 rekhas in a rasi and remedial measures: There will be danger of death in the month of the rasi (during the period the Sun transits that rasi) which has 7 or less than 7 rekhas in the Samudaya Ashtakavarga. To ward off this evil effect, 20 tolas of gold and 2 heaps of sesame seeds resembling the shape of a mountain should be given in charity. अभिशापभयं तत्र रेखा रुद्रसमा द्विज ! । दिक्पालस्वर्णघटितां प्रदद्यात्‌ प्रतिमां विधोः । । 26 । । युक्ते द्वादश रेखाभिर्जले मृत्युभयं वदेत्‌ । सशस्यभूमिं विप्राय दत्त्वा शुभं फलं भवेत्‌ । । 27 । । विश्वप्रमितरेखाभिर्व्याघ्रान्मृत्युभयं भवेत्‌ । विष्णोर्हिरण्यगर्भस्य दानं कुर्याच्छुभाप्तये । । 28 । । शक्रप्रमितरेखाभिर्युक्ते मासे मृतेर्भयम्‌ । वराहप्रतिमां दद्यात्‌ कनकेन विनिर्मिताम्‌ । । 29 । । तिथिभिश्च नृपाद्भीतिर्दद्यात्‌ तत्र गजं द्विज ! । रिष्टं षोडशभिर्दद्यात्‌ मूर्तिं कल्पतरोस्तथा । । 30 । । 11 रेखा वाले मास में बहुत कष्ट का योग होता है । तब 10 पल सोने से निर्मित चन्द्र प्रतिमा का दान करें । 12 रेखा वाले मास में जल से मृत्युभय होता है, तब खड़ी फसल से युक्त भूमि का दान करना चाहिए । 13 रेखा वाले मास में व्याघ्रादि जंगली जन्तुओं से भय होता है । तच्छान्त्यर्थ विष्णु भगवान् की प्रतिमा (शालिग्राम) का दान करना चाहिए । 14 रेखा वाले मास में मृत्युभय होता है । तब सुवर्णनिर्मित वराह भगवान् की प्रतिमा का दान करना चाहिए । 15 रेखा मास में राजभय होता है, तदर्थ हाथी का दान करें । 16 रेखा वाले मास में अरिष्ट होता है, तदर्थ कल्पवृक्ष की सुवर्ण या रजत प्रतिमा का यथाशक्ति दान करें ।
