PARENTS: The Sun is the indicator of father for all beings while the mother is indicated by the Moon. Should the Sun be aspected by malefics or be hemmed between them — evils to father. Similarly the Moon to be considered in respect of mother. Malefics in the 6th, 8th or 4th from the Sun bring inauspicious results about the father. Malefics in such places from the Moon will be adverse for the mother. The strength or otherwise of the occupants concerned be suitably estimated.

मातृ-पितृ-कष्ट-विचार का आधार (समापन-सिद्धान्त): सूर्य जातक का पितृ-कारक व चन्द्र मातृ-कारक। सूर्य के साथ पाप-दृष्टि, पाप-योग, पाप-मध्यगतत्व — पिता को कष्ट। सूर्य से 6-8-4 में पाप व शुभ-ग्रह न हो — पितृ-अरिष्ट (श्लोक 44)।
